Major Network Upgrade
Our main search engine, Qango Original at http://www.qango.com/ has reached capacity and requires an upgrade before we can continue to add any more listings and/or categories.
We have scheduled the installation of a complete new software suite to start on June 30th and currently expect it to take 7-14 days to complete. During this time the current category pages will remain open for browsing, but submissions will be suspended.
File Location Change
We've decided to take this opportunity to implement a series of other necessary changes to the site infrastructure that will allow us to better manage and administer the Qango Network as a whole and give us a firm base for future expansion.
We will be moving all files to a new location (except the main welcome page) and updating the look slightly. This may cause some inconvenience, but hopefully any problems will be short-lived. If you are currently linking to Qango you may need to update your links and we will provide full details once the upgrade is completed.
Site Listings - IMPORTANT NOTICE
As part of the upgrade we will be removing all the current categories and replacing them with an entirely new set. Unfortunately we cannot map them straight across to our current categories because the new ones are much more diverse.
We will do our best to place your site listing in the most appropriate new category when we transfer our records. If, after the upgrade, you find a more appropriate category please email a request for your preferred category along with a copy of the original acceptance notice we sent you when we added your site.
Submission Policy
Our submission policy is also changing to help give a clearer indication of how you should suggest a site. All current listings will be re-reviewed before being included in the new site.
Why do it now?
This upgrade is a major task and will take us a lot of time and effort to complete, but it is a necessary step as we expand and will help us to offer you a better service for the future.

NOTE: The software installation and testing is estimated to take up to seven days, but as we are rebuilding our entire category naming structure and changing our submission criteria it could be some time before all qualifying sites are back in the listings and waiting sites are reviewed.
Current Upgrade Status:

Phase one of our major upgrade is now complete. We have reopened site suggestions, but there will be a delay in reviewing new suggestions whilst we continue to transfer our previous records. We'd like to thank everyone for their support and look forward to continuing with our expansion in the near future. |

Transfer of our previous listings database is going well and we expect it to be complete within 2-4 weeks. We are confident that you'll like the new version and we are currently at 1700+ categories with still more to be added before the final relaunch. We have compiled an off-line list of 9000+ additional categories that will be made available later in the year when we install the final part of the main search software upgrade, and hope to expand the category structure still further over the coming year. We would like to thank all those who have written with offers of support and look forward to completing the upgrade and relaunching very soon. |

The additional upgrade has been put back again, so we're leaving that part of site update for later in the year. We have begun re-categorizing our listings and we expect it to take some time to complete, at which point we will re-launch the main site and carry on from where we left off!
Important Note: We have not been able to successfully transfer the database of sites waiting for review because of the vast differences between our old and new category structures, so if your site is not listed when we re-launch, you'll have to suggest it again. We apologise for this inconvenience, but it will give you the opportunity to choose from the new, much larger category selection and also to update your site suggestion details with the latest information. |

We are still awaiting a further upgrade to the new software installation. We can do nothing until this upgrade has been made available, and the relaunch has been put back still further. We apologise for this inconvenience, but we had already stared the upgrade when the new changes were announced and we cannot go back. We are now in the unfortunate position of not being able to move forward until the new software changes are made available. We assure you that this situation is as frustrating for us, as it is for you, and we feel disappointed that a combination of unforeseen problems has lead to a massive overrun in our upgrade schedule. Rest assured, as soon as we are able, we will relaunch the new site and begin reviewing site suggestions in earnest. Thank you for your understanding and patience. |

New site now formatted and modifications started to tailor to Qango's operation. Further software upgrade still awaited. Downtime used to rewrite Qango Central to contain more information in an easier to use format. |

Database reprogramming now in full flow, site structure rebuild is well on the way, and main search engine is under beta test to iron out any potential problems. We've had another slight setback with the software and are currently awaiting a further upgrade, but are still confident for a re-launch by the month end. |

Server now back to normal. Unfortunately the server problems and various software issues have put back our upgrade schedule. We are now looking at the end of July before re-launching. We thank you for your patience and understanding. |

Intermittent server faults are currently causing problems with all Qango.com sites, the server has become unstable. Apologies for any inconvenience, should be fixed soon, although it may take a few days to complete. |
