Listings Changes

The main search engine at Qango was upgraded in September 2000 with a new software suite, including a complete change to our category structure.

If your site was previously listed in our main Qango search engine, but isn't any more, we would like to ask you to re-suggest your site. To re-suggest your site, please click here

Because of the difference between our old and new category structures we couldn't simply move our previous listings to the new site so we had to start again from scratch. This meant re-reviewing each individual site we had previously listed and turned into a very time consuming process.

To complete the re-review process using our old database information would have taken a further four months to complete and it became increasingly apparent that to carry on would be detrimental to our network as a whole.

We decided that the most efficient way to re-categorize site listings would be to ask site owners to suggest their site again using the new category structure. Whilst this is not the best solution and will take some time and effort on your part, it does offer you the opportunity of selecting a more appropriate category and also of updating the details of your site.
